How to Collaborate on Documents in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Microsoft 365 makes it easy to work together on documents in real time, whether you’re editing a report, updating a spreadsheet, or refining a presentation. By using cloud-based collaboration features, multiple users can edit, comment, and track changes simultaneously.

π Step 1: Save Your Document to OneDrive or SharePoint
Before collaborating, store your file in OneDrive (for personal work) or SharePoint (for team projects).
How to Save a File for Collaboration
- Open Word, Excel, or PowerPoint.
- Click File > Save As.
- Choose OneDrive β [Your Organization] or a SharePoint team site.
- Name the file and click Save.
β Your document is now accessible for real-time collaboration!
π Step 2: Share the Document with Your Team
How to Share a File in Word, Excel, or PowerPoint
- Click the Share button (top right).
- Enter the email addresses of people you want to collaborate with.
- Choose their permission level:
- Can Edit β Allows full editing access.
- Can View β Read-only access.
- Click Send or Copy Link to share.

Track Changes in Word
- Click Review > Track Changes.
